Raspberry pi zero headless setup usb11/1/2023 ![]() I will update this post with the links of my sources. So since the past 15 minutes, that’s exactly what I am doing.īut I again see the issue of requiring a working pi. Again, this step too requires a raspberry.Īnd now comes cross compiling. The central issue is installing necessary kernel modules and copying the initramfs to the loop devices. I have created 2 loop devices, 1 is root, 2 is boot. But as I read further, it appeared that making it happen would still require a working raspbian. Having given up on being able to write raspbian on SD card using a phone, I have moved on. All this while, editing config and cmdline files to enable USB gadget mode. I tried writing the image from within android using an app, when that didn’t work I mounted the SD card as USB storage and wrote using etcher as well as dd command. I also have 2 USB otg pendrives.įirst hurdle:- Mountig SD card via android from its recovery and formatting and writing Raspbian on it didn’t boot pi zero. ![]() I however do have a rooted android phone with an SD card slot and an SD card. I don’t have an SD card reader nor do I have his SSH credentials. I wanted to play with it a bit and at the same time didn’t want to do anything to his installation. The best thing? The base model is only $20 $5!.ĭo you know a related subreddit? We'd love to know.Ī roommate of mine has set up pihole on his zero w.
